Song linked with Reds switch

Cape Town - Barcelona and Cameroon star Alex Song could be making his way back to the English Premiership with Liverpool ready to move.

Former Arsenal midfielder Alex Song could be heading back to England according to the Metro.

Barcelona have made it known that Song is surplus to requirements at the Nou Camp but there has been very little firm interest in the player.

Barca are reportedly interested in a permanent deal for the player but Liverpool favour a loan deal with the option to buy next year.

Song, who Barca value at £10million, has failed to make an impact at the Catalan giants since moving to the club in 2012.

Arsenal were reportedly linked with an interest in the midfielder but are now behind Liverpool in the race to sign the player before the September 1 transfer deadline.
