With Javier Hernandez already on his transfer wishlist, Atletico Madrid are keen to sign another Manchester United player as boss Diego Simeone attempts to keep up with the transfer activity of his Spanish rivals.

According to the Express, Simeone has enquired about the availability of Kagawa and is likely to proceed with a £14 million offer for the creative midfielder.

Kagawa has failed to impress at Old Trafford since joining from Dortmund and Louis van Gaal may decide to cash in on Kagawa.

Frustrated by a lack of game time in Manchester, Kagawa may will be tempted to join Simeone this summer.

Atletico have conducted good business in the transfer window. Bayern Munich's Mario Mandzukic has been brought in to replace the outgoing Diego Costa while French star Antoine Griezmann has been signed to increase the attacking options of the La Liga champions.
