Sevilla expect Moreno to stay

Cape Town - Liverpool have been chasing Sevilla defender Alberto Moreno for quite some time now, and the 22-year-old is believed to be on the verge of finally making the move to Merseyside.

Sevilla sporting director Monchi, however, has played down speculation claiming a possible move is in the pipeline.

"We think that he will stay at Sevilla and play in the [UEFA Super Cup] final [against Real Madrid] in Cardiff [next week]", Monchi said.

Reports suggest that there are many clubs interested in Moreno, but that Sevilla are confident he will stay at the club.
