London - Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin will not play again this season, because of a knee problem, the Premier League club's manager, Ronald Koeman, said Thursday.
The 25-year-old Frenchman suffered the injury during during the 2-2 league draw with Tottenham Hotspur last weekend, with subsequent scans indicating he could be out of action for at least a month.
"Morgan will be out until the end of the season, for four or five weeks," Koeman said.
Southampton travel to relegation-threatened Sunderland on Saturday, with the south coast club aiming to continue their push for European football.
The Saints are in seventh place, but only a point behind both Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur.
