Schneiderlin bid made - reports

Cape Town - Manchester United have made an opening £20 million offer to sign Southampton's French midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin.

Manager Louis van Gaal has tabled an offer to sign the French international, according to Manchester Evening News.

Earlier in the week, Southampton manager Ronald Koeman insisted that there had been no "serious" bids despite widespread interest in the 25-year-old midfielder.

Various media sources claim that the Red Devils bid was rejected with the Saints unwilling to accept any offer lower their £25 million valuation of Schneiderlin.

Van Gaal is reportedly eager to see the Schneiderlin deal pushed through before he takes his squad to the USA for their pre-season tour.

Manchester United remain interested in Real Madrid's Sergio Ramos and Bayern Munich's Bastian Schweinsteiger.
