Southampton - Southampton claimed a welcome Premier League win on Saturday, beating Swansea City 3-1 at St Mary's as the Welsh club's recent slump continued.
Virgil van Dijk put Saints on their way early on before Dusan Tadic and Sadio Mane added further goals for the home side, with Gylfi Sigurdsson getting one back from the penalty spot late on for Swansea.
It was just a second Premier League win of the season for Southampton but completed a good week following their 6-0 victory over MK Dons in the League Cup.
Swansea, meanwhile, have now gone four games without a win in all competitions with this defeat coming off the back of a League Cup loss to second-tier Hull City.
In a lively start to the game, Mane fired over and then put another effort wide either side of Maarten Stekelenburg saving from Jonjo Shelvey.
Ronald Koeman's side then opened the scoring on 11 minutes, James Ward-Prowse crossing from the left and Van Dijk heading in his first goal for the club since signing from Celtic.
Southampton took the lead at home to Manchester United last weekend before succumbing 3-2, but they held onto their lead into the interval here as Stekelenburg saved from Ki Sung-yueng.
Swansea manager Garry Monk then shuffled his pack at half-time, sending on Jefferson Montero and Eder in place of Bafetimbi Gomis and Jack Cork.
But it was Southampton who doubled their lead in the 54th minute when Tadic attempted a cutback for Mane and the ball deflected in off Ki's leg, the Serbian being credited with the goal.
Mane, who scored twice in midweek, then made it 3-0 just after the hour mark, finishing after a Graziano Pelle shot came off Ashley Williams for his fourth goal in his last five Premier League appearances at St Mary's.
Southampton were threatening to run riot but visiting 'keeper Lukasz Fabianski kept the scored down as he saved from a Tadic free-kick and a Pelle header.
Swansea were a beaten side but they at least managed to avoid going a fourth straight game without a goal, Sigurdsson scoring from the penalty spot seven minutes from the end after Neil Taylor was brought down by Jose Fonte in the area.
