Rodgers praises Kolo and Lucas

Cape Town - Kolo Toure and Lucas won the praise of their under-fire manager following Liverpool's vital 1-0 win over Stoke.

Glen Johnson gave struggling Liverpool a much-needed lift as the defender's dramatic late goal secured a hard-fought 1-0 win over Stoke at Anfield on Saturday.

But Liverpool boss hailed the impact of duo Kolo Toure and Lucas in his post-match comments.

"I'm very happy with their performances," Rodgers told Liverpoolfc.com.

It was Liverpool's first win since Swansea City on October 28.

"I think their contribution has been vital in the last two games.

"They are players who understand the league, players who are experienced and players who are winners.

"Both have been outstanding and they haven't played a great deal, but they've come into the team and done very well."

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
