Cape Town - Liverpool and Arsenal are being credited with a firm interest in Marseille striker Andre-Pierre Gignac.

Gignac, currently Ligue 1's second most profilic scorer with 14 goals to his name this season, is set to leave France with Marseille already searching for his replacements reports the Daily Express.

The 29-year-old striker has consistently been linked with a move to England but with Liverpool and Arsenal both determined to bolster their forward line, reports in France suggest a summer move is likely for Gignac.

Marseille have identified Juventus' forward Fernando Llorente, himself a target for English Premiership club Tottenham Hotspur, as the perfect replacement for Gignac.

Gignac is into his fifth season with Marseille and has notched up over 170 appearances for the club with 72 goals to his credit.

Gignac has 19 international caps for France to his name, scoring five goals during that time.
