Reds wait on Gerrard injury

London - Steven Gerrard will have a scan to determine the extent of a hamstring strain after lasting just 45 minutes of Saturday's 1-0 win at Sunderland in the Premier League.

The 34-year-old, in his first league game since announcing he will be joining LA Galaxy in the summer, was substituted at half-time.

"It was just precautionary," Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers said.

"He'll have a scan on his hamstring. It just felt a little bit tight, so we'll just need to manage that and see how it is."
