Cape Town - South American forwards Carlos Bacca and Salomon Rondon are being considered for summer moves by Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers.
The Liverpool Echo report that Liverpool are looking at alternative options to signing Belgium international Christian Benteke.
Benteke's late season resurgence put him firmly on the Reds' radar but Aston Villa are unwilling to negotiate a move for any amount lower than his £32 million release clause.
Rodgers has now turned his attention to prolific Sevilla striker Carlos Bacca and Salomon Rondon, of Zenit Saint Petersburg, as Liverpool look to sign a player capable of scoring 20 goals in a season.
Bacca, who is currently on duty for Colombia at the Copa America, scored 28 goals last season and would cost £12 million less than Villa's 24-year-old striker.
Venezuelan attacker Rondon is also reportedly on Rodger's list of transfer targets.
