Cape Town - Liverpool are ready to rival Chelsea for the chance to bring striker Seydou Doumbia to England in January.
The CSKA Moscow striker is wanted by both Liverpool and Chelsea according to the Metro.
Doumbia was on Chelsea's radar in June before the club decided to move for other targets but now the striker is back in the spotlight after putting Manchester City to the sword last week.
Doumbia scored both goals as CSKA Moscow earned a 2-1 victory over City at the Etihad stadium.
Brendan Rodgers is pondering a £15 million bid for the 26-year-old striker, who Liverpool have reportedly scouted extensively in recent months.
The Ivorian striker is still keen on a move to Chelsea according to reports in English media.
