Cape Town - Manchester United's pursuit of Spanish international Sergio Ramos has been boosted after comments from an agent close to the player.
According to the Telegraph, Sergio Ramos' future at Real Madrid is looking increasingly doubtful.
Los Blancos chief executive Jose Angel Sanchez met with the 29-year-old defender's representatives on Wednesday to plot the way forward for the centre-back.
The Madrid star's agent then revealed the meeting did not provide the player with the assurances he sought.
“With everything that has happened it will be very difficult for Sergio Ramos to stay at Madrid.” Pedro Riesco told Radio Marca.
Riesco works alongside Ramos' father and brother representing the disgruntled Real Madrid star.
Ramos' current deal at the ten-time Champions League winners expires at 2017.
Reports in England suggest that Manchester United have made a formal £30 million-plus move for Ramos.
