Cape Town - Following his late involvement in Manchester United's win at home against Spurs, Brazilian defender Rafael admitted his pleasure at being back in the first team of the Red Devils.
Rafael got his first taste of first team action since January 4 as he replaced Michael Carrick in the 87th minute as United steamrolled Spurs 3-0 at Old Trafford.
Victory against Spurs kept Manchester United in the race for their quest for Champions League qualification, which the defender hopes to play his part in.
“It was very good for me and it was also very important for me, to come into the game and play for the first-team again,” Rafael told ManUtd.com.
“I just want to be involved now.
" Of course, it was good to play. Training has been fantastic as well. Now I just want to be involved with the team and if I get a chance, then I want to play well.”
Manchester United's next league fixture is a trip on Sunday to Anfield to face Liverpool.
Liverpool host Manchester United at Anfield.
The match kicks off at 15:30.
