Cape Town - It appears to be a two-horse race to replace Sir Alex Ferguson who announced his retirement as Manchester United manager at the end of the current season, on Wednesday.

According to the Paddy Power website, current Everton boss David Moyes, whose contract at Goodison Park runs out at the end of the season, is the favourite to take over at Old Trafford, at 1/3 at the time of writing.

Former Chelsea coach and currently disgruntled Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho, is next best at 3/1.

Jürgen Klopp, the current manager of Borussia Dortmund who will contest this year's Champions League final, can be backed at 16/1.

Ferguson's, 71, successor will be announced in the next 48 hours.

United, who clinched their 20th English Premiership title this season, have two matches remaining, against Swansea (at home on Sunday, May 12) and West Brom (away on Sunday, May 19).
