Cape Town - QPR's England international Charlie Austin is set to be the subject of a four-way battle for his signature.
The Evening Standard report that Southampton, West Ham United, Newcastle United and even Chelsea are keen to sign Austin this summer.
The 25-year-old striker scored 18 goals in the league this season and earned a call up to the national squad after impressing during QPR's ill-fated 2014/15 league campaign.
Newcastle United are reportedly leading the race to sign Austin, with new manager Steve McClaren eager to install the English star as his number one striker.
Reports suggest that West Ham United will provide the most competition for the Magpies as the Hammers seek to add a proven goalscorer to their squad.
Moves to Southampton and Chelsea look unlikely at this stage as the Saints would need to sell a player to raise the £15 million need to sign Austin and Chelsea are unable to offer the England squad member a guarantee of a place in their starting lineup.
