Pienaar eyes Spurs return

Johannesburg - Winger Steven Pienaar and defender William Gallas are back in training at Tottenham and could return against QPR this weekend.

South Africa captain Pienaar went under the knife in August to fix a long-standing groin problem, while Frenchman Gallas has endured calf troubles.

Neither player has featured for Spurs this season, but first-team coach Clive Allen is hopeful at least one of them will have a run-out on Sunday.

"We're pretty much as we were at the weekend. There's one or two players coming back who are joining in," Allen told London24.com.

"Steven Pienaar and William Gallas are back in training, which is good, so we'll hopefully have one or two more to select from on Sunday.

"I don't know if William will play but he could well be involved, he may make the bench. It just depends on the reaction to his training this week."
