Paulista gunning for title

Cape Town - Speaking ahead of Arsenal's clash with Hull City, Gabriel Paulista revealed he believes the Gunners are capable of winning the title next season.

The Gunners are currently third in the Premier League, three points behind Manchester City with two games in hand.

London rivals Chelsea were crowned this season's champions with their win over Crystal Palace on Sunday, but Paulista thinks Arsenal's squad is capable of making a title challenge next season.

"The title... it's not easy, but if we prepare hard enough, we've got everything that is needed to win it," he told Sky Sportsthrough a translator.

"We're taking into account that Arsenal has had a bad patch and has worked through it.

"If we manage to win the [the FA Cup] and come second, then yes, it will have been a good season."

The Brazilian has had a slow start to his career at Arsenal, having only made three league appearances since moving to London from Villareal for £14million in January.

The defender revealed he has struggled with the language somewhat, but said he settling in well in the capital.

"My main difficulty was the English, that I didn't understand anything, but I'm working very hard to improve and I'm enjoying myself here," he added.

"He [Wenger] doesn't tell me what to do to learn the language but he helps me on many occasions.

"The Spanish players help me as well; that's what makes the club a family club because everybody helps each other.

"I'm adapting really well and my family is very happy - so I'm happy."

Despite a surprise victory over Liverpool last weekend, Hull City are still only a single point above the relegation zone and Paulista believes they will prove tough to beat on Monday.

"I think that it is always more difficult to play well against a team that is fighting not to be relegated," he said.

"I think that the main thing is we have to try and play intelligently to be able to overcome that."
