Parker worry for Tottenham

London - Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Scott Parker could miss the start of the season because of an ankle injury, the BBC reported on Tuesday.

The 31-year-old has been struggling since the end of last season and played through pain for England at the European Championships.

"There might be a small tear on his Achilles," manager Andre Villas-Boas said.

"We are evaluating the situation regarding a possible operation that can take four to six weeks normally to heal."

Tottenham's first Premier League game is away to Newcastle United on August 18.
