Pardew's got character - Keegan

Cape Town - Alan Pardew has got his side winning again and the Newcastle boss has won some praise from Newcastle legend Kevin Keegan.

Kevin Keegan broke his silence on talking about his former club in order to sing the praises of Pardew and the club's board according to the Newcastle Chronicle.

“Four games ago there was despair around Newcastle. He’s been under pressure for a long time, since Christmas at least." said Keegan, commenting on the pressure surrounding the club.

Talking about the board's decision to keep Pardew on as manager, he said: “They’ve persevered with him for whatever reason, and that’s worked out to their advantage.

“The one thing that’s obvious is that the team’s behind him: you don’t go to places like Tottenham and Man City and win, or Liverpool at home when they desperately needed a result, without having great team spirit.

“So that’s what Alan’s got, he’s got a lot of character.”

West Bromwich Albion, who themselves are on a run of good form, present Newcastle United with their next English Premiership test when the two sides meet at  The Hawthorns on Sunday.

The match kicks off at 15:30.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
