Pardew eyes silverware in Cape Town

Cape Town - Crystal Palace are in South Africa in their final build up to the 2015/16 season and will take part in the inaugural Cape Town Cup, which kicks off on Friday.

The Eagles face SuperSport United in the first game of the competition at the Cape Town Stadium and the club’s manager Alan Pardew has set his sights on taking home the silverware.

“There will be tough competition with a very good Sporting Lisbon and two local sides” Pardew told Sport24 on Thursday.

“We need to play well and then hopefully win the final on Sunday”.

Pardew says his side are in good shape ahead of the new season and there is a good spirit in the camp.

“The guys have a good spirit about them” said Pardew.

"Our preparations have been solid. All our internationals have come back in good health.

"We've added some very important players for the season ahead. We have good spirit and we're honoured to be here." added Pardew.

Pardew took over as Crystal Palace manager on January 2 and managed to inspire the side to a 10th place finish in the Premier League.

SuperSport United face Crystal Palace at 17:45 on Friday.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
