Former Liverpool striker Michael Owen believes it is unfair to blame Mario Balotelli for Liverpool's poor showing so far this season and thinks Brendan Rodgers should continue to start the Italian forward.
Owen took to Twitter to share his thoughts on the misfiring badboy:
I thought Brendan Rodgers spoke well in his post match interview. Doesn't seem happy with Balotelli. Signing him was always a risk.

With Sturridge out I don't know what options Rodgers has. Sterling not a centre forward, Lambert struggling for goals and not much pace.

I'd still start Balotelli at the weekend. I'm not a big fan of his but he has more class than most. Harsh to put all the blame on him.

Last point on Balotelli. Most worrying thing is his team mates' body language towards him. Once you lose their respect it's a big struggle.

What are your thoughts on the situation developing at Liverpool? Do you agree with Owen or do you want Balotelli dropped?
