Our tip: More ‘blues’ for Toon

English Premiership flutter (File)
Cape Town - Heartened by that derby triumph over arch-rivals Arsenal, defending champions Chelsea will extend their upward curve away to embattled Newcastle, confidently predict our experts.

That is despite the Blues suffering a shock 2-1 loss in last season’s corresponding scrap in the north-east; we don’t anticipate lightning striking twice.

Each round of the 2015/16 Premiership season, a panel of our staff has a crack at predicting the results – do the exercise yourself, if you like, and see how you compare afterwards.

Compiled by Rob Houwing (Newcastle-partial), the others are Garrin Lambley (Everton), Herman Mostert (Chelsea), and a quartet of Manchester United devotees in Tashreeq Vardien, Wade Pretorius, Lloyd Burnard and Maano Nekhavhambe.

Three points are awarded for an entirely correct scoreline, and one for right result.
