Cape Town - Former Manchester United legend Gary Neville has lashed out at his former club following their streaky performance against Southampton on Monday.
The Red Devils notched up their fifth consecutive win but the performance against the Saints was arguably the Old Trafford side's worst.
Speaking as a pundit for Sky Sports, Neville tore into Manchester United by saying he was shocked at the team's passing performance.
"It was so bad at times. It got slightly better in the second half, but it wasn't a good United performance even if it was a great result.
"I think probably he won't have managed as bad a passing performance as that in his career," said Neville.
The former defender revealed that he was frustrated watching the match and ended up laughing at the display in front of him.
Neville believes the side lacked the momentum during the match against Ronald Koeman's side and sorely missed the drive that Angel Di Maria brings to the team.
He said: "They look shaky on the ball and tonight they lacked counter-attack and any speed. Against Arsenal when they were that bad they had the counter-attack through Di Maria but tonight they didn't have anything."
Manchester United face arch-rivals Liverpool on Sunday at Old Trafford.
The match kicks off at 15:30.
