Cape Town – Samir Nasri has issued a warning to Manchester City’s players ahead of their crucial UCL must win against Bayern Munich.
According to the Daily Mirror, City are on the brink of not qualifying for the knockout stages of Uefa Champions League and Nasri has reminded City’s highly-paid stars that the players might face getting the axe if they fail to make the next round.
“With the salary of every player and the level of those players, 90 per cent of the team is world class,” said Nasri of City squad.
“Then not to qualify from the first round of the Champions League would be a huge blow for the club – and for us as well. We need to do something or otherwise next year it’s going to be new players - it’s going to be new everything.”
“That’s how we work when you play for a big team, a big club. You have to respond and show everyone you deserve to qualify.”
Manuel Pellegrini’s side are set to face Bayern at the Ethihad Stadium which could prove beneficial as they search for that all important three points.
Kick-off is at 21:45.
