Nani: Moyes made me stay

Cape Town - Although he was linked with a move away from Old Trafford during the off-season, Manchester United's Nani extended his stay at the Theatre of Dreams when he signed a new five-year deal last week.

The Portuguese winger hardly featured last season for the defending champions due to injuries and is yet to secure a regular place in the starting line-up under new manager, David Moyes.

But Nani says Moyes influenced his decision to stay with the Red Devils, telling the Daily Mirror he is very content with his new deal at the club.

"This summer was not easy but after a lot of thought and talking to David Moyes I believe it was the best solution.”

The 26-year-old also revealed that he turned down various offers as his desire is to play for United and he is determined to fight for his place in the first team, adding that he has a lot to offer the team.

Nani joined United from Sporting in June 2007 in a deal worth €25.5m and was part of a United team that won the 2008 Champions League under legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
