Mourinho rules out January moves

Cape Town - Chelsea will not be allowing any players to leave in January nor will the English Premiership league leaders be bringing in any new faces,  according to manager Jose Mourinho.

The Daily Mail report that the January transfer window will be quiet for the Blues.

"Our project is to start and finish the season with the same group of players, so there will be nobody to leave and nobody to come in either." said Mourinho.

The Chelsea manager significantly increased the quality of his squad in the summer transfer window by adding the likes of Diego Costa and Cesc Fabregas but will not be looking to sign any further talent if his latest statements are to be believed.

The news will come as a blow to players on the fringes of the Chelsea first team including wantaway keeper Petr Cech and forward Andre Schurrle.

Stoke City host Chelsea at the Britannia Stadium on Monday at 22:00.
