Cape Town - Following his arrival at Anfield and Daniel Sturridge's prolonged absence from the Liverpool team, Alberto Moreno is enjoying witnessing the quality of the English striker first-hand.
Sturridge, who spent almost five months out of the game, returned to the line-up on January 31 and returned back to his scoring ways when he scored against West Ham before again finding the net against Crystal Palace in the FA Cup on Saturday.
"You just have to watch him play to see how important he is," Moreno told Liverpoolfc.com.
"After being injured for so long, he scored a goal with his second touch [against West Ham]. You can see the type of footballer he is from that.
"Sturridge is a top player and everyone on the team was wishing he returned as soon as possible - and he's done brilliantly. He's a very important player for the team."
Southampton are the next side in Liverpool's path as the Reds travel to St. Mary's Stadium on Sunday to continue their push for a Champions League place.
Despite Liverpool's brilliant start to the 2015 season, the Anfield club remain four points behind the Saints.
The match kicks off at 18:15.
