Cape Town - Hull City will be without the services of goalkeeper Allan McGregor for the foreseeable future due to a shoulder injury.
The Scot has been troubled by the injury for some time, and it has now been decided that only rest will remedy the problem. Much to the relief of the Tigers, surgery will not be required.
"The specialist has said he needs to rest and stop diving on it," commented manager Steve Bruce.
"If you've got a sore shoulder and he's diving on it every day we need to take him out and make sure he recovers.
"Hopefully in four to six weeks he'll be back to normal. We're just delighted he doesn't need an operation. We first thought it might need one."
McGregor has been ever-present for the Tigers in the league, playing every minute of their six games, conceding 11 goals.
Hull City, minus Allan McGregor, face in-form Crystal Palace at The KC Stadium on Saturday, October 4 at 16:00.
