Buenos Aires - Diego Maradona has said he has a "firm offer" to coach an undisclosed English club and will travel to the country next month to listen to the proposed deal.

The former coach of Argentina's national team revealed his plans to reporters in the summer resort of Punta del Este, Uruguay.

Maradona did not say which English club the offer came from, but Argentine media are suggesting it could be Premier League side Fulham.

He attended Fulham's home match against Manchester City in the Premier League on November 21.

Maradona says he is "not desperate" for a job, but expects to return to coaching one day.

Great player in his day, but i don't see a great coach in him. Hugs never won games, and the sooner you realise that the better It'll be for yah.

He was actually quoted as saying: "If they convince me, I may take it up." Which is seriously a joke. Which ever club it may be, good luck to them if they do employ him. I would have understood that comment if he actually had something to brag about. Couple of league titles as a manager... cups? Etc. But with an attitude like that? I'm not knocking his managerial skills, and I would have even given him the benefit of the doubt. But after a plain ignorant statements like that.... This guy is a fool. Clearly.
