Man United heading to SA?

2012-05-23 09:08

Johannesburg - Manchester United are coming to South Africa in July to play in a four-club tournament that will include Ghanaian club Asante Kotoko, according to a report on the Sowetan website.

There was no confirmation of the visit from the Red Devils but it is understood that United representatives were in South Africa last week to discuss logistics.

United were in South Africa three seasons ago to play in the Vodacom Challenge, where they hammered Kaizer Chiefs 4-0 in the final in Pretoria.

AmaZulu will be United's first opponents at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on July 18. The match will coincide with the 94th birthday celebrations of Nelson Mandela. The final of the tournament is planned for Soccer City on July 21.

Great time to take a break away from the South African winter, I would rather watch paint dry than watch the scum utd. I hope the rheumatism of this old team doesn't play up too much in the cold.

you people embarrassed the whole of SA in 2008 when you were openly hostile to KC in favour of a foreign team, man u.We knew of your fanatic obssesion with european teams(and the all blacks) but didnt think you would stoop this low.I can tell you now,no more footie for CT except PSL.Interstingly, you only see your beloved european teams live when they play the local teams that you so despise.

This team is amazing, they have come 3 times to this country already '93, '06, '09. This will be their 4th visit. In that time Liverpool have not been here once. Last time Liverpool was in this area was 1984 and that was in Swaziland.
