Cape Town - Dejan Lovren was left out of the starting lineup as Real Madrid beat Liverpool 1-0 in Champions League action on Tuesday but some off-field action grabbed the media's attention.
Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers made seven changes to the side which lost 1-0 to Newcastle on Saturday including leaving out defender Dejan Lovren.
While Lovren might understand his manager's decision, the player's family were less supportive of the decision.
Lovren's wife took to Instagram to query the decision when she posted a picture of the couple's young child with the caption "Why my daddy doesn't play????"
