Cape Town - Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is looking to bring Mario Balotelli to Anfield in a desperate attempt to sign an internationally recognised striker before the transfer window closes at the end of this month.
Reports suggest the AC Milan striker's agent Mino Railo is in England and that Liverpool are in ongoing talks with the Italian international.
According to the Times, Balotelli is requesting a salary of up to £160 000 a week if he is to complete the move to Merseyside.
The Italian club, however, say they have not received any offers from anyone for the controversial striker.
"At this time we have not received any offer from Liverpool for Balotelli, hence there is no negotiation," Milan CEO Adriano Galliani told Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.
"But we will see as the transfer market ends on September 1." added Galliani.
Galliani has hinted that an offer could still be made and accepted.
Balotelli has scored 66 goals in 156 league matches in both England and Italy and his presence at Liverpool would add further goal threat for the Reds.
