Cape Town - Liverpool will need to beat off interest from Manchester United to land Porto's Brazilian defender Danilo in the summer transfer window.
The Mirror report that Danilo is being chased by arch-rivals Liverpool and Manchester United.
The 23-year-old defender has reportedly turned down the chance to extend his stay at Porto, which has sparked a race for his signature.
Both English clubs are desperate to bolster their options at right-back with Liverpool's Glen Johnson yet to agree to stay at the club beyond the current season.
Danilo has 11 national caps to his name and has already featured 23 times for Porto this season.
The Brazilian arrived at Porto for €13 million in January 2012.
