London - Liverpool confirmed on Sunday that Serbia winger Lazar Markovic has joined Turkish club Fenerbahce on a season-long loan deal.
Markovic, 21, joined Liverpool from Benfica for a reported fee of £20 million last year, but made only 11 Premier League starts last season and is yet to feature in the current campaign.
"Lazar Markovic has completed a season-long loan switch to @Fenerbahce, #LFC can confirm," Liverpool announced on Twitter.
Speaking before the deal was confirmed, Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers said that Markovic still had a future at Anfield. The deal does not include an option to buy.
