Cape Town - With Mario Balotelli failing to impress and Daniel Sturridge struggling with injury, Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is in desperate need of some quality players to bolster his strike-force.
According to the Daily Express, the Reds are reportedly monitoring Gonzalo Higuain’s situation at Napoli very closely.
The Argentine is said to be unhappy at the Italian club and with his future uncertain, reports claim Brendan Rodgers' side have offered a sizeable £31.2m bid to sign the striker.
Arsenal are also said to be interested in Higuain however, and with the 26-year-old being the clubs most lucrative asset, he could fetch a considerable fee in the region of £30-35m if Liverpool are challenged for his services.
