Cape Town - Lille have ruled out the possibility of Belgium international Divock Origi returning to Liverpool in the January transfer window.
The Reds signed the 19-year-old after the World Cup but decided that he should remain with the Ligue 1 side for the season before making the jump to the Premier League.
However, with new signing Mario Balotelli struggling to score consistently and Daniel Sturridge battling injuries, it was reported that manager Brendan Rodgers was considering recalling Origi.
Lille director of football Jean-Michel Vandamme has nevertheless rejected any chance of the Belgian marksman cutting his loan spell short in France.
"It's impossible for Divock to go to Liverpool in January," Vandamme told Sport Wereld.
"His contract is clear, he stays until June."
Origi has continued to impress for Lille, as he so far scored four times in 12 appearances for Rene Girard's men in this campaign.
