Cape Town - A row with teammate Fernandinho was the reason for Vincent Kompany's exclusion from the side to face Leicester.

According to the Mirror, Kompany had a war of words with midfielder Fernandinho during half-time inside the Anfield changing rooms.

The 28-year-old defender and club captain was left out of the starting lineup in the City side that faced Leicester City in the following match, with sources of the English news source claiming Kompany's behaviour off the pitch, and not on it, was the reason for his exclusion.
