Khumalo leaves Spurs on loan

Cape Town - Bafana Bafana defender, Bongani Khumalo, has left Tottenham Hotspur on loan with immediate effect to join Colchester United FC.

Khumalo recently return to the field following a lengthy injury and was working on his fitness by playing for Spurs' under-21 side.

The 27-year-old defender is yet to make his competitive debut for Mauricio Pochettino's side.

Khumalo has been loaned out to Preston North End, Reading, PAOK (Greece) and Doncaster Rovers, since joining Spurs in 2011.

Colchester are currently three points above safety in League One.
