Jose wants Schurrle to stay

Cape Town - Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho wants Germany's World Cup winner Andre Schurrle to remain at Stamford Bridge.

Speaking at a press conference before Chelsea's FA Cup fourth round fixture against Bradford City at home, the Portuguese manager again stated that he does not wish to sell Schurrle.

Schurrle has been unable to assert himself as a first team starter and has been linked with a move to Wolfsburg in the January transfer window.

Famous for his mind games, Mourinho said he considers Schurrle to be a first team regular.

Schurrle and Egyptian winger, Mohamed Salah, have consistently been linked with a move away from the Bridge with reports suggesting Mourinho is keen on Colombian star Juan Cuadrado.

It remains to be seen whether Mourinho genuinly wants Schurrle to stay or if he is trying to drive up Schurrle's valuation in the transfer market.

Looking to the clash against Bradford City, Mourinho confirmed that John Terry will be rested while Petr Cech will start in goals.

Both Schurrle and Salah are expected to start against Bradford.

The match kicks off at 17:00.
