Cape Town - Paul Jewell has left West Brom just a week after being
appointed assistant head coach, with the Baggies claiming his departure
is by mutual consent, reports Football411.
Jewell was brought in by new Baggies boss Tony Pulis last Tuesday but has now performed a U-turn on that decision after seemingly holding reservations about his role at the Hawthorns.
Pulis has since named Dave Kemp as Jewell's replacement, while former QPR and Tottenham manager Gerry Francis has also been brought into the coaching setup.
"Gerry and I have worked well together at both Stoke and Crystal Palace and it was always part of my plan for him to join me at Albion," said Pulis on Albion's website.
"I value his insight and experience of the very highest levels of our game and I'm delighted that he is now on board. We have an agreement that we have employed in the past and suits us both."
