Cape Town - Liverpool are interested in securing a move for Croatian star Mateo Kovacic, shortly after signing Roberto Firmino.
The Evening Standard report that Liverpool will offer £21.3 million for the Inter Milan star.
On Wednesday, the Anfield side announced the signing of Hoffenheim forward Roberto Firmino and now manager Brendan Rodgers has set his sights on a moving for the 21-year-old Croatian.
The English newspaper claim that "sources in Italy claim Kovacic is in no rush to leave Inter" but the Serie A club could decide to cash in on the midfielder with Roberto Mancini looking to rebuild his squad ahead of the 2015/16 Serie A season.
Kovacic would join Firmino, James Milner, Adam Bogdan and Danny Ings as new arrivals at Merseyside this summer.
Liverpool also reportedly lead the race to sign Southampton defender Nathaniel Clyne.
