Chelsea to hand Matic new deal

Cape Town – Chelsea are preparing a new and improved deal for Serbian midfielder international Nemanja Matic.

According to Goal.com website, the London club are eager to reward the player for his service since his return to Stamford Bridge.

Matic returned to Chelsea from Benfica in January and has since been a regular in Jose Mourinho’s side.

It is reported that Real Madrid are interested in the 26-year-old's services who has played 990 minutes in the Premier League, having won 29 tackles, 88% pass accuracy, one goal and two assists.

After their 2-1 over Liverpool at Anfield, Mourinho said: “At this moment, he's a giant. Not for his size but for the way he plays. The man is a giant,” about the stern midfielder.
