Januzaj, who cemented his place in the Manchester United first team squad under David Moyes, has declared that he is not a wing-back, according to Sky Sports.
After finding himself in and out of the United starting eleven this season, the pacey winger has told reporters that he has struggled to adapt his game to suit his new manager's tactics.
Januzaj said the new system is “more difficult for him to play.”
“Yes, the system can make it more difficult for me to play
there but I have to keep working,” said Januzaj.
“I’m not really a
wing-back. It’s harder for me because there is more defending involved and I’m
not really a defender.”
The young star has made just five English Premiership starts this season and may have to play out of position if he wishes to secure game time under Louis van Gaal.
Januzaj insists he prefers to play in an advanced attacking role.
“My favourite position is as a No 10 or a winger." added Januzaj.
