Herrera to aid 'world's best'

Cape Town - Manchester United's Ander Herrera says that he would like to provide goals from the midfield to complement the lethal attacking trio of Wayne Rooney, Robin van Persie and Falcao.

Herrera, who made a £28.8 million switch from Athletic Bilbao to Old Trafford in June, has scored two goals in his last three matches to help the Red Devils get their season back on track.

United boast some of the finest attacking prospects in world football, and Herrera is hopeful that he can add further to his side's goal-scoring prowess.

"I want to try to score more goals. It's very important for the midfielders. I like assists as well and I think we have maybe the best three strikers in the world here in Rooney, Van Persie and Falcao," he told Inside United.

"Juan [Mata], Angel [Di Maria], Adnan [Januzaj], Daley [Blind], Fletch [Darren Fletcher] and me are all going to help them try to score, and if I score of course I'll be very happy."

The Spaniard will have to wait to make a further impact for United though, as he is currently sidelined with a fractured rib.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
