Furman emerges at Bury FC

Cape Town - Bafana Bafana captain Dean Furman made a surprise appearance in a friendly for English Division One side Bury Football Club on Saturday.

The club-less midfielder left Doncaster Rovers at the end of last season and had been linked to a move to Blackburn Rovers.

However after a trial at the club, where he scored in the first game he played in, the club opted not to sign the former Chelsea youth player.

Furman started the game for Bury against Preston North End and got an assist for the opening goal of the game.

He lasted 51 minutes before being substituted as Bury went on to win the match 3-2.

With the season start fast approaching, Furman will now be hoping to find a new club sooner rather than later and will hope that he did enough to impress the powers that be.

Bury are set play another friendly on Monday.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
