Forster set for Saints switch

Cape Town - Southampton's bid for Fraser Forster rests on the result of Celtic's next Champions League match.

If Celtic fail to overturn a 4-1 deficit in their Champions League qualifying match against Legia Warsaw then goalkeeper Fraser Forster will head for the exit, according to the Mirror

Southampton have offered a second bid of £8 million for the English international goalkeeper.

After their initial bid was rejected, Southampton went back in for the player who shone during the group stages of last year's Champions League.

Now with Celtic on the brink of exiting the lucrative European club competition, Southampton are confident of securing a deal for the goalkeeper.

Southampton have also signed Saphir Taider on a season-long loan.

The Inter Milan midfielder joins Ronald Koeman's depleted squad ahead of the 2014/15 EPL season.

Koeman said: "Taider brings quality and we need that. We need competition in the squad as well and that will be good."

The Saints have the first option to sign the Algerian international should he impress during his time at St Mary's.
