FA fine Moyes for ref rant

London - The English Football Association says Manchester United manager David Moyes has been fined 8,000 pounds (R142 600) for questioning the integrity of a referee.

Moyes was also warned by the FA about his future conduct.

Moyes criticized referee Andre Marriner and his assistants after a 2-1 loss to Sunderland in the first leg of the League Cup semifinals earlier this month.

Moyes, who admitted to a misconduct charge, said his team was "playing referees as well as the opposition."
