Cape Town - At 21, PSV's Dutch winger Memphis Depay is better than Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo was says ex-Manchester United scout Ed van Stijn.
Manchester United are interested in moving for Depay if they fail in their proposed bid to lure Gareth Bale to Old Trafford reports The Express.
Depay was beaten to the World Cup's best player award by Paul Pogba, has been in tremendous form for Eredivisie side - PSV this season, scoring 16 goals in 19 games.
"You can't judge Depay on his technique." said van Stijn.
"With him you look at what he's doing with that technique to utilise it as much as possible.
"For example, look how often he makes sure he finds himself in one-on-ones facing the goal. It all comes down to details.
"If you compare him to a young Cristiano Ronaldo at the same age, then Depay has more strings to his bow. I like him better.
"Ronaldo made many of the same mistakes at Manchester United as he did when he was 17."
Depay, who has represented the Netherlands at every age group level, would reportedly cost any interested club £20 million.
