Everton will have Plan B

Cape Town - Roberto Martinez is confident that his team will have a plan in place should they fail to sign Romelu Lukaku before the start of the new English Premiership season.

According to the Liverpool Echo, Romelu Lukaku is priority number one for Everton but manger Roberto Martinez insists the club has alternate targets should the Toffees fail to land the Belgian before the start of the 2014/15 English Premiership season.

Lukaku has been linked with a move to Everton for some time but new reports suggest both Real Madrid and Wolfsburg are interested in the Chelsea striker.

Martinz said: “There have been a lot of reports, some even saying I’ve told people it’s done but the situation is very clear.

“We need a number nine going into the start of the season and we will make sure we sign one.

Lukaku scored 16 goals in 33 appearances while on loan at Everton last season.

Everton face newly promoted Leicester City away in the opening day of the 2014/15 season.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
