Everton tipped to land Evans

Cape Town - Jonny Evans has been strongly linked with a move to Everton with British bookmakers dramatically reducing the odds of the deal.

Metro report that Everton "could be on the verge" of a deal for Manchester United defender Jonny Evans.

The Northern Ireland international has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford in the past two windows with several Premier League clubs interested in the centre-back.

"We have reported a run of money on Everton signing Jonny Evans, with his odds on a move to Goodison Park currently 4/5." said Sky Bets.

Evans is tipped at 11/10 to remain with the Red Devils at the end of the current window.

Dutch international midfielder Daley Blind started alongside England international Chris Smalling in the first match of the season against Spurs on Sunday - a 1-0 home win for Manchester United - an indication that Evans' future lies away from Manchester United.
